"The Lunatic"

On a calm and serene river bank

I wonder how low humanity sank

How dare they call me a lunatic?

When so many among them are sick

I think and feel what they can’t see

My world is I, me and only me

They kill, plunder, loot and rout

Each law, with impunity, they flout

And still they think they are sane

Compassionate, prudent and humane!

They revel in a greedy and cunning world

Boasting of wealth that they have unfurled

I am cursed ‘coz my thoughts trouble me

Their thoughts are such that trouble thee

To the world of theirs I can’t contribute

Don’t you think that this is a big tribute?
