Idiosyncrasies

If you dislike something in her/him you might like something else in her/him” (Al Baqarah)

Idiosyncrasies

What do you like in a fragrant flower?

The shroud of petals, its smell or the colour?

These are the facts they don’t reveal

The things that most hearts conceal

What do you like about someone?

Deeds he has done or those undone?

Things that seem different or that are same?

One who’s unknown or the one with fame?

The one who’s quiet or the one who can cry?

The one who’s open or the one who’s shy?

The one who was honest or the one who could lie?

The one who could sell but never ever buy?

Or do you like the black or the white?

Which one is it, for you, really right?

You may like to fly but be afraid of flight

Yet beautiful could be for someone your freight?

It’s not what’s ideal or who is perfect

People have their own choice to select

It’s the small but beautiful idiosyncrasies

That one may overlook & the other one sees!
